(Halle).- Starting August 2025, Germany’s gambling regulator will publish quarterly data to improve market transparency and inform policy discussions.

GGL Launches First Quarterly Report on Cross-Border Gambling and Betting

The German Gambling Authority (GGL) has announced the launch of a new quarterly reporting system, beginning in August 2025, aimed at providing detailed data on cross-border gambling and betting activities. For the first time, licensed operators will be required to submit underlying figures, which will then be consolidated and published by the GGL.

This initiative is part of the GGL’s broader effort to enhance transparency in Germany’s legal gambling market. The quarterly publication—titled GGL Gambling Market Monitor—will serve as a reliable source of evidence-based insights for both the public and policymakers. It is designed to support informed debates and evaluations of the State Treaty on Gambling 2021 (GlüStV 2021).

According to the regulator, the report format will be expanded over time to include additional key performance indicators and metrics relevant to the evolving gambling landscape.

By regularly sharing these data points, the GGL aims to create a more open, accountable, and regulated environment for legal gambling in Germany, while also enabling fact-based policy development and regulatory oversight.
